David Tonizzo

Like his ancestors of the Italian Renaissance, Davide Tonizzo creates designs by combining art with engineering knowledge. Davide began his career in Italy designing cars for companies such asAlfa Romeo, Ferrari, Fiat, Lancia, and Mercedes Benz. During this time, he also developed a true passion for furniture design and worked on numerous projects for Italian manufacturers. While technical skill and engineering know-how form the foundations of his works, it is his inspired story-telling approach that forms emotional connections between his products and the people who enjoy them.

Davide founded his professional design business in 1993 and has worked in Canada, Italy, USA, Denmark, Spain, Mexico, and China, creating products across a wide range of industries including automotive, bathwares, ceramics, soft goods, green technology, and of course, furniture.

In these 30+ years, he has received 25 design awards, holds several patents, and is a six-time winner of the prestigious Good Design Award. His work has been featured in many of the world’s most respected design publications.

Davide Tonizzo is also the designer of our signature Compasso Chair, blending his refined aesthetic with ergonomic precision — a true statement piece in our collection.
