This table decoration in a round shape, is made of dried pieces of grass, placed on a black wooden base. Raffia fiber is obtained by peeling raffia palm leaves. Raffia palms are a genus of about twenty species of palms native to tropical regions of Africa, particularly Madagascar, with one species also occurring in Central and South America. Raffia fiber is soft, flexible, strong, and durable.
